Introduction:

When you have a lot of complex information to present to a broad audience, representing information graphically is always more effective than using just text.  A well-placed graphic can transform a plain-looking document into a compelling visual message.

Principles:

PowerPoint® is one of the most powerful and popular presentation graphics applications available.  It allows complicated and impressive presentations to be produced to a high degree of professionalism.  The final results can be used for large-screen lectures, overhead projector shows, conventional slide production or for creating presentations and web pages for use on the internet.

It can include text (in almost any format), pictures, organisation charts, graphs, sound and video clips, and information from the Internet.  The slide show can incorporate a combination of impressive text, animation and slide-transition effects.  As well as slides, PowerPoint® can also produce presentation notes, handouts, printouts of slides and outline notes.

My Experience:

My practical knowledge and ability with MS PowerPoint® is such that I have past experience of training a variety of employees (at Hampshire County Council’s Arts and Countryside Department) in its set up and use.  As well having the necessary photographic equipment and skills, I also have the ability to touch-type at approximately 50wpm.  In other words, I can put together a wide range of information in the form of text, graphics and photo images both competently and efficiently.
